I’d read that some people made big money on Medium. I wanted that to be me.
So, I signed up and published my first story on 30 October.
I spend my first week or so reading as much as I could from some of the top writers. I wanted to know what got them so many views, reads and dollars.
I read that some made over $10,000, which got me excited.
Then I read that only the top 1% earn $1,000 a month or me. Me a top 1% writer? Don’t make me laugh. My English teacher already told me that I was average at best. That got me depressed.
Then I read about a few writers that had topped $1,000 after a few months. Their writing was good, but they didn’t seem too much better than me. That got me motivated.
I made to plan to find out how the top writers got to $1,000 a month. What I discovered was that they all published at least daily. So that is what I did.
If you want to succeed, model yourself on the successful people in your niche.
It helps that I’m really enjoying writing at the moment. More than I ever have in my entire life. It never came easy to me, but after a month, the words are starting to flow more easily.
I can do this.
Just watch me succeed.
Here are another 14 tips I started implementing.
November has ended, so what happened?
This is what happened:
3,749 reads
10,000 claps
$92.88 earned
That $92.88 is only for 12–30 November. Over a whole month that would equal around $146.
All I need to do is 7X this and I’ll get to $1,000.
Easy? Probably not.
Doable? Definitely.
I’m the new kid on the blog. Soon I’ll be in the top 1%. That’s a promise.
That’s my humble brag for the day.
